We’ve found the soap made by the owners of Brickyard Farms in nearby Cloverdale, Michigan, to be some of the best we’ve ever used. And when they made some test batches using our beer as an ingredient, we were sold.

Here’s how the artisans describe their product: “Our soaps are handcrafted in small batches, using a blend of olive, coconut, palm, castor and soybean oils. Next we add natural colorings, fragrance and/or essential oils, and a variety of defoliants, from spearmint leaves to clays and pumice. Wonderfully fragrant, our soap bars are both naturally soothing and beautifully simple.”

They added our Breakfast Stout to their Oatmeal-Milk & Honey recipe for a rich, softening soap that has a sweet smell balanced by a warm coffee aroma from the beer. The oats used in the recipe work in concert with the oat-base of the beer for a luxurious finished product. Due to the success of this soap, we asked Brickyard Farms to make a Dirty Bastard version, which also works nicely—the caramel malts come through in the scent.

The other style is a cleansing, healing blend made with Centennial IPA and Simcoe hop pellets, which work to gently exfoliate your skin.

Handcrafted by BLiS Gourmet in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this Grade A dark amber pure maple syrup is aged in specially selected 12-18 year old single barrel bourbon casks. The barrels are carefully agitated until the honey, charred oak, vanilla and spice notes are imparted into the maple syrup for a pure, one-of-a-kind natural flavor.

After this syrup ages in barrels, we use the spent barrels for beers like Curmudgeon's Better Half, CBS, Sweet Repute, and other special offerings.
